Several weeks ago I gave our newest recruit Tharkus Grimblood the task of arranging a joust for the Order. He very quickly went to work and built a jousting field on his own.

Shortly after creating his arena he discovered a larger venue at the new Fair Grounds and changed his plans to utilize the new jousting arena there. He also sought help with resolving some issues with the lances themselves. Tharkus came up with the Jousts format and had equipment made for his brothers and sisters in-arms.
The day of the Joust he welcomed everyone at the gates of the fair grounds. It is extremely difficult to host and perform in an event like this and we were all lucky to have Captain Myrien offer to be the announcer and score keeper. She did an exceptional job of it! Tharkus had us roll dice to see who we would joust against. I do not recall what the rolls were but I do know it was Sir Gregor vs Sir Aidan in the 1st run with Sir Aidan taking the win and Tharkus vs myself in the 2nd run with Tharkus taking the win. In the Finale it was Sir Aidan vs Tharkus with Tharkus again taking the win. For the Orders first Joust it seems fitting that the person who worked so hard on it was also he person who is our 1st Jousting Champion! It should be noted that a few people came to watch the joust, including a lady who gave Tharkus a handkerchief for luck! I do not think it could have gone any better and I hope we have more jousting events in the future.

( A special thanks to Nala for making an exceptional jousting field and fairgrounds and for allowing us to use them. Also for sorting out the problems we were having with the "use best weapons" lances and for making zero stat armor so we could joust on a level playing field. And for placing a vendor for all the items, adding squires (bankers) and probably a few other things we will never be aware of!)
