[Aidan's Knight Trials pt.1 ] I felt my squire, Aidan Bryant, was ready to begin his trial for Knighthood. His first task was to visit each of the Shrines. He could only travel by foot, ship or horseback. To make it a bit more of a challenge he could not wear any armor. I would accompany him as a witness. I could help him in a fight but I could not give him advice on travel or the where about's of the shrines. Aidan had been preparing for his trials for several weeks and was more than ready, he even took the last minute announcement about no armor in stride. He started with Humility, then sailed to the Valor Shrine. After Valor we set sail for the mainland and the Honor Shrine. As we began to disembark a pirate ship fell upon us. I do not us any ranged weapons and unfortunately Aidan was out of bolts. Dodging arrows fired by some of the pirates we quickly jumped back aboard our ship. Our brave tillerman followed Aidan's instructions and brought us next to the pirates. Unable to board their ship we both began to cast Holy Light. With most of the pirates dispatched I happened upon a halberd and used it to finish the pirate captain. The pirates and their ship sank beneath the waves. We continued on to the Honor Shrine and then walked to Trinsic where we took a brief rest before continuing on to the Spirituality Shrine. When Aidan repeated the mantra to gain access to the platform that the shrine is set upon a drake appeared and attacked us. This happened several times as we both tested the mantra. We discussed this disturbing event as we made our way to the Justice Shrine and then on to the Compassion Shrine where again a drake appeared and attacked once Aidan said the mantra. We quickly dispatched the drake and continued on to the Shrine of Sacrifice. The last leg was sailing to Ice Island. Aidan lead us to the Shrine of Honesty, meditated briefly and then lead us back to the ship and directed the tillerman to sail us home.
